My paintings, drawings and constructions contain visual allusions to artists who have influenced me: Bruegel, Jan van Eyck, Goya, Miró, Picasso, Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Francis Bacon. The list is eclectic and so is my art. I have always resisted labels. The work of these artists ranges from art-for-art’s sake to political manifestoes—sometimes, as with the case of Goya, in a single artist’s career the entire spectrum is displayed.
